Biden Administration Recruits Leaders from Hangar’s Team

We are proud to announce that two Hangar team members, Dave Zvenyach and Bruce Reed, have been appointed to the Biden administration. Bringing decades of experience working at the intersection of technology and government to the nation’s capital, we know that their expertise will prove invaluable as the Administration works to solve some of the most challenging problems to face a new president.

At Hangar, Dave served as Director of Product, leading development across our portfolio companies and working collaboratively with teams and partners to build new products, identify, test and validate new product opportunities and conduct due diligence for new ideas. Dave’s numerous contributions to Hangar demonstrated the real value to private sector companies of technology talent cultivated within government—just as his return to government demonstrates the continuing need for government leaders who can effectively collaborate with the private sector. 

After nearly two years at Hangar, Dave will return to Washington D.C. as the Director of Technology Transformation Services at the General Services Administration (GSA). He previously served at GSA as the Executive Director of 18F, demonstrating his deep understanding of the intersection between the public and private sectors across the federal, state and local levels. 

As a longtime advisor on our board, Bruce Reed provided strategic guidance to Hangar portfolio companies on how to both integrate innovative solutions into government and solve problems in highly regulated sectors. With his counsel, the companies determined how to build solutions with outsized societal impact, while also creating high-growth businesses in a market worth $2 trillion. Bruce joined Hangar’s  board after his tenure as Chief of Staff to then-Vice President Biden, and now leaves our board to serve as Deputy Chief of Staff to President Biden. 

We are grateful for the immense impact both Dave and Bruce have had on Hangar, on our portfolio companies and on our mission to build companies from the ground up that are uniquely qualified to tackle major challenges the government cannot solve alone. We look forward to all of their achievements to come under the new administration.
